Right now, the weather is a little chilly, especially near the ocean. I think we reached a high of 65 and windy today. Although, it's supposed to warm to mid-70s this week.
My top pick for the area is Marineland. Although they're not open fully right now, due to some reconstruction, you can currently go visit with the dolphins for free. They're also doing some interactive programs during the renovations. You can do a shallow water experience, or a program called 'dolphin designs', where a dolphin will actually paint a picture for you and you get to spend some personal 'dolphin-time', although not in the water. You can reserve programs on their website at marineland.net
Right up the road from them is Fort Mantanzas National Park. This is also a 'free' event, where a park ranger will take you by ferry to the old fort and tell you the history.
Also, this time of year is great to see the manatees at Blue Springs State Park - not far from Daytona/Ormond.
As far as other theme parks go - I don't know of any in the area besides the big 3 - Disney, Universal and SeaWorld.
Although, I love all 3 - visiting any of them during Christmas week is a mistake. The crowds are unbelievable.
Hope you enjoy your trip!

I've been there the same time of year. Don't expect to be sunbathing on the beach. Take a drive on the beach, you can!Check out the flea market! There's not much else to do besides driving an hour like said before.

NOt amusement park but lots to do and very picturesque is St Augustine. The old city is rimmed in sparkling lights. You can tour the Spanish Fort, Oldest House and School in country, Fountain of Youth, Ripleys-take a carriage ride or JOlley Trolley tour. 1 hr from Daytona
You're close enough to Orlando w/ SeaWorld, etc if want to go for a day for theme parks
and of course less than an hour is The Kennedy Space Center with their new "ride" simulating space travel
