Question by sdmr41: Vaca to Daytona Beach, FL…ever been there? pls help?
I am thinking about taking a vacation to Daytona beach, Fl in August. When is hurricane season? Do they have a boardwalk? or where should I stay to make sure I am in the “prime location” to all the attractions/people ect (ie south end north end) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Living approx. 55 miles south of Daytona, I have been there many time. Yes, there is a boardwalk, a “band shell” and other attractions. Unfortunately, many drifters and panhandlers hang out around the boardwalk, so be careful. As to “prime location”, I usually stay at the Holiday Inn Beachside, as you can get to anywhere in Daytona Beach within 15 mins. Although hurricane season starts 1 June to 30 Nov, there have not been any during the last 3 years in the East Central Florida area (which includes Daytona).
