The beautifully shined guts of a motorcycle at my favorite restaurant south of Daytona Beach (not far from Ponce Inlet), the North Turn. It is built right next to a portion of the beach that used to serve as the race track. Now the restaurant has a huge deck nearly exactly on the beach with some lounge chairs and tables and an interesting clientele.

On September 17, 2008 at approximately 1:45 pm, a Strong arm Robbery occurred in front of 1540 S Nova Road, the South Turn. The victim was sitting on a bench in front of the South Turn when a dark colored vehicle pulled to the curb, occupied by three black males. Two black male suspects exited the vehicle and approached the victim. One of the suspects asked the victim if the sold beer inside and the victim answered yes. At this time both suspects attacked the victim and battered him about the head and upper torso. The suspects then took the victims wallet that contained an undetermined amount of cash, entered the dark colored vehicle and fled the parking lot to the south. A witness to the incident followed the suspect vehicle and was able to determine that it was a charcoal gray Ford 500 and was last seen at Clyde Morris Blvd and International Speedway Blvd possibly headed east. Investigation revealed that the tag number on the vehicle should be FL 070-IPN, and that it appears to be a loaned out vehicle. The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene and released. The same vehicle has fled from police several times in the recent past. The owner loaned the vehicle out and it is now in the hands of the criminal element.

Driving down beach side just south of Flagger Beach, my wife and I stopped to have lunch. I walked over to the beach and took this picture. I thought this would be an amazing picture. Further south, this brown sand turns into white and much softer. That’s what makes Daytona Beach so special.
Question by Tina: Monster Truck Birthday Party?
My son is turning 4 and loves monster trucks. His favorite is Grave Digger and I was thinking that it would be neat to have a real Monster truck come to his party. Does anyone know where I could look this up? I live just south of Daytona Beach, FL Thanks. so much

Wow what a mom you are – I am not sure this will happen, but have you seen the Grave Digger Pinata? http://www.thepartyanimal.org/ChildrensBirthdayParties/?p=1292
My son when he was young was also a huge Grave Digger Fan.
Also a great party favor are these very cool Monster jam Tire Cups which also feature Grave Digger:

You can also get some fun Monster Truck Ticket Style invitations featuring Grave Digger:

I hope that help and good luck with getting the big truck – the kids would love that.

Power Rankings: Daytona likely to have no bearing on season
Coming out of Daytona, drivers could go the route of Matt Kenseth in 2009 (awful season after a win) or Jimmie Johnson in ’10 (botch the race, but win the Cup). Pete Pistone says it’s best just to keep some perspective.

Though have some noise…but I still think that this pic is really beautiful and peaceful…great shot
Thank you Jo. This picture was taken with a very cheap camera but I couldn’t pass up this shot. The colors were striking, especially that day. If you want to see some creative photoshop work, view the photo stream of IntoCreating. She has some really neat stuff.
Was looking at your pics, like this shot could be used as a painting.Very good qualitites for me. As they say its not about the camera but on who takes the shot, but then again we all want a nice cam hehehe. Cheers!
Thanks Ken. That’s a view point I haven’t heard before. I do think you are a photographer and I guess it’s true, it’s the person who takes the shot. However, the camera can make or break a photographer. I’m working real hard on composition. I think once I master that, I will work on many many other things about photography. But, I also believe, to master one is not enough, you must use balance along with the skill. I have been studying almost every photo I view and came to a realization; To take a picture is not enough, you must have some natural talent. Viewing your photos, you do have that talent. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Your thoughts and suggestions are always welcome.
