På grunn av regnet var kampen stoppet da vi kom frem, og de hadde rullet ut banedekket. Vi satt og ventet i omtrent 20 minutter i håp om at kampen skulle bli startet igjen, men dessverre ble den avlyst.

On October 9, 2008, Daytona Beach, Florida, had a tornado scare when a tornado watch was issued and there was a strong possibility for two tornadoes to actually form. Taken directly from Embry-Riddle’s Daytona Beach campus during the duration of the storm.

Since I have moved over here, the weather has always been hot- but that doesn’t mean it is sunny. I am near Daytona beach and when it rains, it is impossible to drive. Also, it has rained nearly every day for the past 3 months. So does Florida have more rain?

well since i live in tampa and have never been to england, idk. but before the excessive rain florida was in a real bad drought so all of this rain was a good thing.

Thanks for the kind words of support. These are difficult and frightening times for all of us. So often, I think of the burdens weighing on the skinny shoulders of our young president and pray that he can find a way to get us all through this. And as of this morning the sound of hailstones rattling down the chimney!!
My favorite is the sound of the ocean. I could learn to live with it on a full time basis. The only time I care for the sound of rain is at night, on a tin roof, and I don’t have to get up early. I want it all, huh? Oh yeah, love the shot. The sky and the ocean are beautiful.

This brings back so many memories of when I lived just outside Galveston!! All the beach houses, the tourists descending on the island during spring and summer, etc. Just wonderful. We didn’t have the amount of kids like you do, but, it was fun

This is why I went to the Prescott campus:-)
It rains more in Florida- At least, we get more inches of rainfall, anyways.. It probably rains more often in England, though.. but its a much lighter rain than the kind we require in our tropical paradise. We need the water to keep things beautiful!! The further north you get, the less water is required, because the less tropical it is.. (England is much further from the tropics regions than Florida is, obviously) Also, we get a lot of the tropical depressions, storms, and hurricanes that places like England never see, primarily due to their location on the planet.
Central Florida is also (FYI) the lightning capital of the world..
Hurricane season is between June 1 and Dec 31 every year, and you can expect storms just about constantly during this time of year. Its good that we are getting this much this year, because the aquifers have decreased so much in size that they have gone down 10 feet, causing lots and lots of sinkholes..
A sinkhole happens this way:
The underground aquifers support the ground that rests upon them, believe it or not. All that water together weighs a great deal and was an excellent support system for our homes and buildings in the past.
Now, we have used so much water, that the levels of those aquifers have literally gone ten feet down.. That is like a whole lot of mid-sized lakes, just drying up completely!! Without that water to support the ground, the ground just caves in. That is how sinkholes happen. =)
