tivo the commercial, it is not number 43, i think it is actually number 23 on the commercial. I think the superbird came out in 1970, using a 1970 b body. I agree, there are no 4 door chargers!!! Come on chrysler, gives us old schoolers to talk about again! our memories are fading from the days when we used to be able to talk plum crazy and go mango!

Dodge already has a 2-door coupe - it's called the Challenger, and it is coming out next year. Having two coupes would not be feasable, not to mention cost-effective. The market for big coupes like this is very small. Chrysler needs to concentrate on making quality products that the general public wants.

Besides, what's not "real" about the current Charger?

ADDENDUM: There was no D500 in 1955. And 18 seconds does not a musclecar make. The GTO was the first musclecar, but there were musclecars before the GTO. Stop trying to put a square peg in a round hole just to give Mopars glory because that's revisionist history and nothing less. If you want to form a good argument, you must get your facts straight and present them in a concise manner. :mytwocents:

First I'd like to thank you for the v-8 only. I think the small charger was a real 'slick' looking car and have no doubt about the aerodynamics being good, but how would you work the grill of the thing? I like the old mopar's best, I had a dodge monaco...67 with one of the strongest engines I've ever owned, a 440 duel ex 4bbl, cast iron free flow ex manifolds. These kids these days know nothing about to torque

The wing car lives!
The 1969 Plymouth Superbird is my all time favorite muscle car -- the holy grail of ALL muscle car fanatics. No, it wasn't the fastest, no it wasn't the quickest but it damn sure was/is the most outrageous musclecar EVER built.
Long live the wing!

isn't that the commercial with Richard Petty? #43?
That's not a Daytona, it's a Superbird!! Not Dodge, but Plymouth! and since Plymouth is no more..I'm sad. :-(
But I agree with you, we need some American Muscle Cars back..Even the Mustang looks good, and I'm a Mopar Fan.
I get excited about the Wing on the pickup trucks even!!
Bring back the Wing!!!

Totally agree.

RANT ON---
I think it would be great if they killed the 4-door version charger all together.

Made the daytona a real daytona with wing and nose, and the charger a real charger, as a 2-door v-8 powerhouse. None of this euro-bastardized wanna be muscle-car.

A 4-door, is still not a real charger, and DAIMLER is gone, so CHRYSLER, get back to your roots and call this car a Coronet like it really is.

RANT OFF--- Thanks Feel better.

the car with the big tall fin in the back?

The American car companies will be gone within 15 to 20 years, maybe even sooner. The red chinese along with the Japs are going to be the only car makers.
Isn't free trade wonderful?
