Question by Jennifer L: Daytona Beach attractions that do not involve being in the sun.?
My daughter (she’s 27) and I are going to Daytona, Florida next week, because she really wants to see the beach. The bad thing is she is going through chemo and cannot be out in the sun for more than 5 or 10 minutes. What fun things are there to do in the Daytona area that can keep her happy and safe?

If your daughter can be outside just not in direct sunlight, you may be able to enjoy the beach for a couple hours in the evenings from 6:30-8:30 or so. It should still be light enough out for her to be able to see it =) Anyway, here are a couple links for things to do in Daytona…the 2nd link is a marine science center that has exhibits but they’re also rehabilitating sick or injured animals there. I’ve never been and actually didn’t know about it until now..I may have to give it a try. Enjoy your vacation!

There’s always Daytona International Speedway, Kennedy Space Center (a short drive), or City Walk at night in Orlando. On the boardwalk are arcades, restaurants and stores that will keep her out of the sun. Try these sites for ideas.
